Victim of circumstances I think. Gary Hall was never going to let him past to park and was a waste of time dragging back to last.

It was reported Lazarus ran an additional 50m being parked three-wide for the entire 2536m journey - extra distance seems a bit light but still overload. I bet if you guys owned this horse you woundn't be such passive pavlova's!

Tough run all right. Reports emphasised the 50 metres extra he ran- but not 50 metres more than the other ones off the pegs too.

I think some of our other good drivers would have used more patience, rather than a "bull at a gate" method and responded to the inevitable stipes enquiry later.
Am sorry for the horse- not the first to be asked to do the almost impossible which usually leads to severe after effects.

The Fremantle Cup really has no more status than say the Kaikoura Cup ? Would you ever race Lazarus in the dunes at Kaikoura?
